Synopsis
|
G, teacher, was in the office of the principal when a bomb threat was reported. Principal told G not to tell other faculty members of the incident. When G expressed concern, the principal reprimanded him in the presence of others. Level 2 evaluator, superintendent, granted the grievance on the basis that principal's admonition, while proper, should not have been in presence of others and required an apology to grievant. Principal filed a grievance regarding Level 2 action. At Level 3, board of education determined that neither grievant nor the principal were entitled to relief. DECISION: Board of education acted properly in considering a second grievance, arising from a single incident, the decision on which effectively overruled a Level 2 decision in a prior grievance. G failed to establish any violation of a statute or education policy. DENIED.
