Synopsis
|
Due to severe flooding classes were held at various locations throughout the county for the remainder of the school year. Grievants' runs were reassigned and Grievants requested shuttle-run pay for the additional miles driven beyond their established route. The BOE maintains that the Grievants' schedules were revised in an emergency situation and this work schedule increased only 30 minutes to an hour well within the 8 hours for which they are compensated. The drivers who did receive the added compensation did so as they were involved in additional runs. CONCLUSION: The temporary transportation arrangements made as a result of flood damage were not violative of 18A-2-8a.
