Synopsis
|
Grievant was dismissed due to insubordination and incompetence. Grievant, who has severe emotional problems, seeks an extended leave of absence instead of dismissal, so he can investigate college employment and pursue the treatment regimen of his new psychiatrist. Grievant has before had extended leave of absence to deal with his psychiatric difficulty, and Respondent has, over the years, been very understanding and accommodating of him and his problems. DECISION: DENIED. Respondent has shown Grievant to be insubordinate and incompetent. It would not be appropriate for this Grievance Board, in this case, to order another leave of absence, or fair to ask Respondent to participate in grievant's complex new treatment plan.
