Synopsis
|
Grievant, teacher at a closed school, was on transfer. He applied and was selected for another job, and this was approved by Respondent. Later, a principal from a closed school claimed he had submitted a bid on the same job. Respondent had no record of this; however, it considered it 'fair' to re-post position. DECISION: GRANTED. Grievant was taken off transfer and couldn't be put back on involuntarily after Respondent's action approving his hire. Beyond this, Respondent's policy, that it is a job candidate's burden to ensure receipt of all application materials, must be followed; exception for all displaced principal inappropriate. Position should not be re-posted.
