Synopsis
|
THE WVU EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK PROVIDES THAT DISCIPLINARY ACTION, INCLUDING SUSPENSION, MAY BE TAKEN WHENEVER THE CONDUCT OF AN EMPLOYEE INTERFERES WITH THE OPERATION OF HIS UNIT OR BRINGS DISCREDIT TO THE UNIVERSITY. SUSPENSIONS MAY BE IMPOSED IN THE CASE OF A FIRST OFFENSE OR FOR REPEATED MINOR ONES WHEN, IN THE JUDGMENT OF THE SUPERVISOR, PROPER CONDUCT CAN BE ATTAINED WITHOUT RESORTING TO DISMISSAL. On remand the ALJ ruled affirmed her prior ruling that the suspension was justified and proven, but an earlier written warning was ordered removed from Grievant's file.
