Synopsis
|
A county boe is obligated to fill a vacant coaching position with the most qualified applicant. The grievance procedure is not intended to be a 'super-interview' for unsuccessful job applicants, rather, in this context, it allows analysis of the legal sufficiency of the selection process at the time it occurred. If the decision was proper based on the information then available to the boe, and the process was not flawed to the point that the outcome might reasonably have been different otherwise, the hiring will be upheld.
