Synopsis
|
Gr agreed to initiate a video year book class/program after the beginning of the 86-87 school term foregoing his planning period and the board executed an appropriate contract providing compensation for the waived planning hours. In conformance with the arrangement, school officials added the video class to grievant's 87-88 schedule, restored his planning period and prepared an extra-curricular contract compensating him for after class hours. Gr would not accept the terms of the contract since it provided less remuneration that the previous year and the class and sponsorship was accepted by another teacher. Gr alleges that his contract was modified outside of the prescribed procedure, violating WV Code, 18A-2-7. The extracurricular contract provided for the compensation for extra hours and was on the parity with the picture year book class assumed by another teacher. Grievants 86-87 schedule and compensation was a temporary, emergency situation and the assignment did not amount to a transfer.
