Synopsis
|
The assignment of a teacher to an extracurricular assignment constitutes an agreement between the employee and the BOE and is separate from the employee's contract of employment. The refusal of the BOE to renew a teacher's coaching assignment is considered a transfer and requires that the employee be notified in writing and given a statement of reasons. The employee is entitled to a hearing before the BOE. Grievance granted; the BOE failed to follow 18A-2-7 which results in the automatic reassignment to the same position for the ensuing year under the same terms and conditions of the current year
