Synopsis
|
Grievant, employed by the Board as Secretary III, alleged that she had been improperly denied a promotion to Executive Secretary awarded to three similarly-situated secretaries also assigned to assistant superintendents. The Board argues that the promotions were awarded only to those secretaries who work independently and exercise discretion in the completion of their duties. DECISION: DENIED. Numerous examples of work performed by executive secretaries indicate greater individual responsibility in decision making and working independently in the completion of tasks than the grievant who works with minimal supervision but primarily completes routine duties which are reviewed by a supervisor.
